Sexist Speeding Advertising

Featured Replies

Does anyone else find the THINK! "Always There" & "Live With It" really sexist towards men?

You know the ones with the kids voice, "he used to sleep in on Saturdays...", "When he goes to work...." etc.

Adverts are here for those who haven't seen / heard them.

Granted its a fact that more men are convicted of speeding than woman, but when all four of their radio and television adverts are suggesting a man has killed a child through speeding, its a bit out of order! According to Diamond Insurance (for woman), "11% of women have been caught speeding". That's still a significant figure in my book.

It wouldn't be so bad but this advertising campaign cost the taxpayer £3.2million!!!

Personally, I think the Advertising Standards Authority should be looking at this!

...unless THINK! redeem themselves by doing a series of adverts about woman applying makeup while driving....or even better a woman reverse parking campaign!! :D

Exactly why the ads should reflect this IMO.

I'd like to see Think! are you sure the middle lane of the M* in rush hour doing 40mph is actually safe?

Where are those adverts?

OR "THINK" - if you're in the middle lane in moderate traffic - at 50- how does someone in the inside lane get past . And it seems to be ( from practical experience of the M1) A CULTURAL THING .Or perhaps a caste thing .After all it seems to be aged BMWs/ aged Mercs, and lets not forget the ancient Nissan ,as oppossed to the new Merc/Audi/ Nissan Patrol found in the outside lane at 75 .All with tisues in the rear window .

THINK! Can that asian woman in the ninja outfit really see properly?

:notme:

As an Audi driver I take great offence to that, 75mph is for the middle lane, the outside lane is for at least 90+ mph :giggle:

(on the autobahns of course :dull: )

    - but that was in my white van days, when 90 was something to be wished for .( and 85 was achievable after a long run)
