new octy or superb

Featured Replies

the 2 year time is here again so its time to consider changing but do i stay with octavia or switch to superb

the car must be auto ( lazy knee on left side )

must have air con

must have stowage

could be estate

must be well preferably diesel but price could alter judgement

i am putting up about 80,000 kilometre in the two years

current octy has leather, dsg, sunroof, 17 pegasus so you see where im coming from......

what would you do ???

i am living in dublin so irish retail prices apply

with greenline superb coming in at just under 25k....

Hi Michelle, I am hoping to be facing the same choice soon. I would be going with a Vrs tdi Combi and trying to haggle for dear life also the Superb Combi might be worth waiting for, you should be able to get into both for under 30k with all the bells and whistles.

Hi Michelle,

From bitter experience I can tell you that trying to sell a big petrol engined car in Ieland has never been easy. Diesel is surely a must if only for reduced VRT and car tax?

IMHO Ireland is awash with Octavias, I would have the Superb and be different.

Thinking to changing my rs tdi cr soon. Think I might have a buyer...

I'm looking at the New Seat Exeo 170, a year old 320d sport, demo golf GTD and a Mazda 6 2.2 diesel 180bhp. Dont think Ill go for the the new RS the octavia is just too popular, plus been there done that...

If I end up buying the Seat I hope to get it for €26500-€27000 max.

The superb is a lovely car but I don't think I could get one in 170 cr for that price...

yeah octy is all over the place here but i do like it

superb is scarce so possible exclusivity factor in that choice

what would 27k buy spec wise in superb cause i could spend that in a heartbeat with bits and bobs on an octy

Just to point out the 140CR will be available in the Superb from March, June possibly for the Octavia, much better than the 140PD

Sorry no not come across anything re a DSG Greenline and still just manual in the new SUK brochure. would not be surprised if the 1.9 is not withdrawn in the next 12months.

i dont disagree with the phase out of the 1.9 definitely on the octy with the new 1,6 diesel being offered

but by that reckoning they will supply the greenline superb with 2cr but then up goes the competitive pricing margin( or stick in the 1.6 diesel )

or do away with the greenline surely not with all this greenhouse nonsense but thrashed about

Difficult to say which engine will find it's way into the Superb, noticed recently the Passat now uses both the 2.0 110 CR and the 1.6 105 CR (Blueline) but you would need to opt for 140 or 170 CR to get a DSG.

27k wont get you an auto in the Superb. Cheapest DSG listed is over 30k in basic Comfort spec :(

I looked an Exeo and was massively dissapointed :'( I really wanted to like it but the rear bench has absolutely no room and wasn't much larger than my Toledo that I had. The interior was lovely and well built mind you.
