Engine light on

Featured Replies

hi all, ive found a octy vrs i'm interested in buying but the advert says the engine light is. it came on when 1 of the coil packs failed and hasn't gone out even though he's fixed the problem. he says the engine is running fine so could the fault just need clearing off the system? cheers

i dont think so . if he cleared it the first time it shouldn't of come back unless theres another problem .

i dont think he's cleared the original fault?

either that or theres something else wrong with it .

Is there anything particularly special about this particular car? If not, walk away. It might just be that the fault needs clearing, but when there's plenty of other Octavia vrs' available, why take the risk?

The only way to tell is to scan it.

I had my engine management light come on when one of my coil packs failed, however when i replaced the faulty coil the car ran perfect & the management light went out (the fault will still be in the memory though) :)
