Brake Problems

Featured Replies

During the snow I have been very gentle with the brakes on my 2.0 Tdi Estate. Now the snow has gone, I have noticed that the brakes need a real hard push to stop the car when I use them for the first time in the morning. I thought that it was just lack of use to start with, but it has done it the last two mornings.

Has anyone any ideas what might be causing the problem? As far as I know, I have not hit anything buried in the snow and ice. Any suggestions will be welcome

I had similar during early December. First the first few miles after setting off in the morning, the car at times just didn't seem like it was going to stop. I just thought it was the rear calipers being a bit lazy after the hand brake had been on in cold conditions over night. Seems ok now, but I'll be asking the dealer to take a look at it during the next service.
