Does any one know of any airfields that have days open to cars tearing around? Closer to Sheffield the better

no, but you could always join the Brisky army at the next MSE airfield day "down south" and sort some cheap accomodation the night prior/after

Plenty of grass runoff to test yer 4wd, :rofl: and nothing to hit. There are plenty off airfields that do trackdays, must be some near you. Google trackdays mate, you'll find plenty.
