Sliding Rear Seats that don't slide !

Featured Replies

I don't know whether its a fault of the car, or a fault with me; but I can't seem to get the (two outer) rear seats to slide - forward or back. I've tried lifting the under-seat lever and moving the seats, but they don't shift either way. Is there a trick I'm missing (something else I should be doing), or have I got faulty (or very stiff !) seats, which I should have a word with the dealer about ?

Not sure, but I think you need to have the seat backs fully upright before they will slide - try it!

I have come across a jammed seat before (right hand side only) on a dealer demo, salesman couldn't shift it either so he asked the workshop to have a look. Unfortunately workshop people did not appear while I was there so outcome unknown.

Mine were difficult to persuade to move initially but I found pulling on the release handle and the top of the backrest at the same time did the trick. Can't remember having to put the backrest 'upright' but I may have done (old age creeping in...).

They the backrest have to the upright (I think....) and at first they are always a bit stuff.

If they are really stuck, just fold the backrest down and fold the seat upright and they drop it down again. Doing this seems to free it off, as it happened to me previously on Roomsters.
