Bonnet Panel Gap Next To Headlights

Featured Replies

I have had my pre-face lift Octavia II from new for 11 months and today noticed that the panel gap between the bonnet and off-side headlight (left hand side as you look at the front) is larger than the other side. Is this normal? Looked at another car and the LHS looks larger than the RHS although not as bad as mine. Not sure if it has been damaged whilst parked etc?

Any comments welcome, thank you.

Mine's like this after someone gave it a nudge.

Hi my car was reversed into and it mean't replacing the O/S headlamp bracket. This is a one piece mount which the headlamp clips into. It sounds as if someone has bumped it at some point. The bracket is relatively cheap - £15.50 - should you find it needs replacing.

As a suggestion, try releasing the headlamp unit (as if you were changing a bulb..plenty of info re this on here) and try "reseating it" just in case it is slightly misaligned ????

I have found when replacing bulbs that it is possible to get this gap if the unit is not correctly located.
