Apple Customer Service Advice?

Featured Replies

Evening.

My ipod touch has developed an annoying problem where it doesn't always respond to the first press of the home button. Its only a few months old and I just wanted to check how good Apple's customer service is? Do I ring up, email or pop into a shop? Also it was brought back from the States for me... If it makes any difference...

Thanks, Luke.

have you done a reset on it to see if it clears it?? hold down the sleep/wake button and home button for about 20 seconds iirc

If you got the touch from the states, then i dont think they'll honour the warranty. Therefore Apple will charge you through the nose.

Try booking an appointment at the "genius bar" at your local Apple store. Apparently they are quite good.

Apple warranty is global. They do not care where it was bought.

Book a slot with a "Genius" at your local Apple Store so he can go wild monkey on it for you.

apple warrenty only covers the item in coutry it was brought, so i was told by the genius bar at the trafford centre!!!!!

"Genius" is a bit much to describe some spotty oik with 30 mins of training sat in a white shop.

Thanks for the info so far. Its been restored via iTunes and reset via Tom's suggestion without any improvement. Living near Stafford I assume my nearest Apple store will be Brum?

only other thing i can think of, is sending a bug report to apple via itunes, occasionally they send out bug fixes with itunes, also make sure you are running the latest version too, because this will re-flash the firmware to the latest release

dont know how old it is but Apple were in the press last year regarding their warranties. relating to ipods they said that they did a 1yr warranty..............after that you were basicaally

f e c k ed  because they dont design their products to last much more than that......if you prescibe to some theories then they are designed not to last longer or not to be fixable so you go and buy another.......................throwaway culture!!!! i am on my 2nd ipod classic, my first lasted about 2yrs so i count myself lucky.

hope you get yours sorted

September I got it - I think! My memory is a bit sketchy at the best of times! :)

It wasn't very long ago anyway. It took four presses of the button earlier today! Grrr...
