Sound on XBOX 360

Featured Replies

Does an XBOX 360 have noise reduction built in ? :wonder: In Forza 2 ODST and Halo 3, the sound on xbox fades, I have to crank the volume on the TV up, then five minutes later it comes back on louder again! Its definitley not the TV as it does not happen when watching through the Freeview box. Any ideas appreciated. For info, the XBOX is just over 12 months old, and its only started happening recently.

Do you mean it changes half way through playing a game? If so, does it do it on any other games, as it might be a dodgy connection for the sound output, thats the only thing I can think of.

I know that I find Halo3 to generally be a quiet game, but the volume doesn't fluctuate.

SWMBO's cheap digibox does this, too!

It does this at random points in the game - there is not much of a pattern to it, which has made me a bit suspect of the XBOX  Especially as it is now out of warranty!

I suppose its something I can live with, but just wondered if it was a sign of it on its way out, or if will be ok.

The connections are via Scart cable.

SWMBO's digibox is also over Scart!

Does your TV accept any other inputs?

I've never noticed this via component or VGA inputs.

I find my xbox running through my home cinema surround sound is super loud?!

When playing the xbox - volume of 7 is more than adequate

but when watching a DVD you need more like 17

Inconsistent sound is probably down to a duff connection, might be worth getting a new AV cable from eBay or the like

Yeah, I've got my Xbox connected to an A/V reciever via component and it's roughly the same volume as my Sky box connected via Scart...

So probably a duff cable!
