VW oldie Skoda Newbie

Featured Replies

Hello all, just stopping by to introduce myself.

This is a list of some of my past VAG fun:

Volkswagen

Golf GTI MKII

Golf 1.4 MKIII CL

Golf 1.4 MKIII GL

Golf 2.8 VR6 Hi Line Winter pack

Golf V6 4MO

Golf Bora 1.9 TDi Sport

Golf 1.8T GTI

Golf 2.0...

Golf 1.8T (current) AGU engine approx 260 BHP on last dyno: Audi TT KO4 Turbo, Custom Remap, Koni Sport suspension, Brembos, BBS LMs, H&R spacers, Audi Large port head, Winter pack, Powerflex bushes, H&R ARBS)

And now..

I took my first ever Skoda for a test drive today; Skoda Octavia 4x4 estate 'K' reg (6CD boot autochanger, 4X4, sunroof) and I am very impressed. :o

Seriously though, it was so much fun to drive, really smooth, excellent handling, as quite as a mouse and with plenty of power and acceleration! My test drive was 45 minutes and it felt like 10! I love it. In fact, I love it so much I am selling my Golf (1.8T KO4 etc etc, ) this weekend and going for the Skoda I test drove and its coming Monday yayy!! It was like everything I like from the 1.8T engine but far smoother and of course 4x4 which on the country roads and in snow I can't wait to play with!

So I am loosing the VW lowered MKIV bad boy somewhat which I won't be sorry to see the back of after the country roads in this weather that I have to take to work, which is no fun at all in a lowered Golf ripping my valances off and avoiding kerbs and being shoved by Range Rovers or Skoobys.

Here's a photo, ( taken on my phone I'm afraid- I forgot to take my camera so no car pornage I'm afraid)

Cheers, next up I'm thinking of carrying over my Parrot CK 3200 hands free from the Golf but I want to keep it very discreet. I may be moving over to the iphone in March so will probably get a kensington cradle for that but I have been looking at cradles for the Parrot are Broditgenerally a reputable brand? I was looking at the attachment that sits near the gearknob.. :wonder:
