Show me your bird, well..Parrot!

Featured Replies

Just wondering if I can see anyone's Parrot CK3200, (preferably installed in an Octavia) I'm pretty keen on having it on the drivers side( I'm assuming it fits since I did a search..hope so!!) lower down near the gear knob, but not so that I keep kneeing it!! So far have found this: Brodit 215130 but am open to suggestions. I like the Parrot and have never had any problems in my Golf, I can't give any more car spec yet as the advert has been removed because I deposited it and all I can give is that its a K reg 4x4 Skoda Octavia Elegance 1.8T :wonder:

Hi blackielawless

This how I fitted the 3100 in a Fabia, and did the same in my sons Octavia

I like that, cheers.I would imagine I could put my 3200 there too? Is the receprion fine? Only I found the higher up my unit was the more buzz?

Can't wait for my Skoda, it comes tomorrow; here's to 4X4 fun! :p

Hi Again

I have fitted parrot kits to a few vehicles now and never had reception problems, inc buzzing !

If you are fitting it your self, a couple of tips !

Take the glove box out, this will allow you to loose the boxes for the kit without struggling pushing the radio back in, and above the radio, you have some switch blanks

take one out to feed the cable through, and then file a small grove so the wire can pass through when the blank goes back in.

Will do mate, cheers

I've got the CK3100 fitted in the cubbyhole under the stereo. No wires and looks good.

I was looking at the 3200 but I don't need the screen and I couldn't think of anywhere I could have fitted it where it would have looked ok.

But you loose the cubbyhole ! it come in hand for od bits ! and you don't see any wires in the way I do it, unless you look from under neath.

Radiotwo

nahhh, you don't lose the cubbyhole.

All that is there is the little control buttons for the handsfree.

I have a Blackberry Storm which slides nicely under the buttons and still leaves plenty of room for a pack ciggies next to it :)

Soooo How do I remove the Headunit!!

Soooo How do I remove the Headunit!!

Hi

Is there not two slots near the edges of the radio ? if so you can buy the proper tools from the likes of Halfords or try mini hacksaw blades

with the pins removed

Radiotwo

Hi there, I removed the headunit in my VRS to replace it with a Sony XPLOD and

I recently removed and re-fitted Mrs Grrs factory H/U when I installed her parrot.

Both times I used a pair of electric planer blades to remove the factory unit...

I appreciate that not everybody has a pair of these kicking around but I would bet that they

are cheaper than buying the proper keys. If you use this option though, please be VERY

VERY careful as they are mega sharp.. I wrapped the ends in insulating tape to spare my flesh.

HTH.

I fitted the screen on my 3200 to the pop out cubby under the stereo on the Superb when I had it, which was spot on, with the microphone positioned behind the steering wheel so clear sound the other end. On the vectra I bought a MKi9200 and had the screen fitted next to the radio and the microphone again behind the steering wheel. The Volvo is going to have the MKi9200 treatment too over the next couple of weeks, and I'm hoping the screen will go somewhere in the middle again and the mic behind the steering wheel.

Parrots are brilliant when they work and a doddle to fit and remove if you know what your kind of doing ;)
