One very happy owner

Featured Replies

Well I have had my Octavia vRS for 2 weeks now, and it is turning out to be the most enjoyable car I have ever owned. (Not too difficult considering some of the c**p I have had previously)

Just passed the 900 mile mark today (being doing above average mileage for the last fortnight), and pushed the revs a little higher. Very impressed with the performance and the way it feels solidly put together.

Only downsides so far have been:

Interior - already knew about this one with it being winter and my son playing football at the weekends. Invested in some Scotchguard and large rubber mats as soon as I could. His friends think I am mad when I get very nervous as they climb into the car.

Hatch / water - have been very careful so far but I forgot this morning, and there was a lot of standing water on the hatchback. Opened up quickly due to being late for work and it poured in very close to the autochanger.

Colour - Keeping a black metallic clean in the current weather is an absolute mare - but I think it is worth it for how good it looks when shining.

The above I already knew about, but a couple of times when reversing into my drive I get a moaning / grinding noise from what sounds like the wheels / brakes. Will this go away after a few miles, or do I need to investigate further?

Apart from those few things I really couldn't be happier, and already someone where I work has ordered another vRS (so much for exclusivity), and someone else has ordered an Elegance PD130.

Just off to find the owners thread to add my name to the bottom.......

Hello and Welcome,

you can start modifying it soon!!!

:D We knew you'd like it !

good arent they !

i think the brake noise thing is a known "fault" or not depending how you look at it. apparently theres been a few reports of it on here and the magority have said it goes once the brakes are fully bedded in.

best thing to do is keep an eye / ear on things and let the dealer know if it doesnt improve in a few months or so.

Glad you are enjoying purchase.
