mk1 octy vrs gearbox oil

Featured Replies

Hi how do u check and change gearbox oil on mk1 octy vrs? ive searched but cant find anything many thanks.

ok, go under the car.

look at the gear box, its on the passengers side of the car.

on it you will see a large bolt with no head just a large like socket on it, that is the one you empty it with.

now to fill, remove the front plastic undertray.

on the gearbox look up it between the front of the car and the box, you will see a pipe that bends like a U on its side, in the middle of that is the one to fill and check.

hope that helps a bit

I have just done a service on mine but didnt bother with the gearbox oil, do you think I should of?

ok thanks for that Billy

you need a 17mm allen key or sump plug removal tool. basically there is a plug in the bottom and a plug in the side, you refil thru the side untill it starts to come back out.

we always change the transmission oil every 40K at work

ok great, what spec oil does the OCTY VRS take? cheers

Hint - Make sure you can remove the filler plug before trying the drain! I learn by other people's experiences, not just my own!

lol yea I was gonna say that now as ive looked at it now and the filler is a bigger one lol,
