I'd be wary of doing anything more with these other than send them back and get a refund. Fronts will probably be fine, but the spring rate on the rears will be too soft for an Octy. There's a lot more weight over the back wheels of the Octy compared with a Golf because of the large rear overhang that the Golf just doesn't have. You'll probably find the car squats under acceleration and will bounce at the back end more than with OEM set up. Find some Octavia specific coil overs

depends on the make of coilover as they are the same fitment but due to the weight differences Golf stuff should not be used. Unless it states Octavia then Id get them sent back mate.

I was too slow lol

this is the kit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=230394152032&Category=40192&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1

Definitely send them back and get the right parts. You can't cut corners with suspension components.

If you put them on they might well feel great initially (simply because the acr will sit flatter through smooth corners). But, as has already been said the spring rate will not match the rear of the octy and you's soon notice the poor handling when you need it most (under braking and accelerating).

Put simply, the MKIV golf does not use the same stock springs as the octy so why would it share the same aftermarket components? They may well mechinically fit onto the car but they wont' ride right.
