fuelling problem ?

Featured Replies

hi all i have a 2001 octavia vrs which has a problem but being my 1st vrs i am unsure on what problem could be so thought i'd try this forum before taking to a garage. the problem feels like i am running out of fuel as i accelerate and one minute its hesitant and another it will go but then seem to die again. thanks in advance on any advice.

Welcome to Briskoda, you could have any one of a number of issues. Throttle body clean may be required - Vac pipes leaking - Crank Case hoses that go back to the Turbo intake pipe could be split. There are lots of threads with info about hesitation, search is your friend :D

Check, and I mean check, not just look at, all the turbo - manifold pipes, the brake vacumn line and the crankcase ventilation system. If it's none of them leaking or collapsing internally (so you need to squeeze the lines with braided external bracing on them to see if they're soft), get the fault codes read, because there's any number of other things it could be; throttle body needs cleaning or aligning, losing fuel pressure, duff coil pack(s)...
