power steering goes solid just at random now and then on a motorway its scarey

is it the angle sencor thingy

does it have to go to the dealers

or is it the power steering pump

mine did that too, it can be a whole manner of things to be honest, you need to get the fault codes read off it before you do anything else... it could just be down to having a dodgy battery as teh fabia uses an electric power steering pump

Faulty battery or connections the most likely, followed by the angle sensor, but as TeflonTom says, get a code read done.

Angle sensor is number 1 candidate in my opinion!

Check on the this forum, as quite a few members have VAGCOM and can read the codes for you (usually for the price of a beer or 2 :-) )
