New Order

Featured Replies

I finally took the plunge and ordered a VRS TFSi on Friday to take advantage of the o% finance.

I was torn between the race blue and the white but in the end went for the blue.

They did have a white one that had just been delivered which I thought looked pretty impressive.

The only sticking point was that they couldnt do the black wheels.

After that it was a no-brainer. Race Blue it is.

My only worry at the moment is that I wont enjoy the car as much as my Leon Cupra R.

Thats been a great car, but after 5 years and a good offer from Skoda means its time for a change.

One thing I found dissapointing is that you cant pick electric door mirrors as an option.

i will miss those.

Now I just have to wait and hope I've made the right decision....

I was also offered Autoglym Life to 'protect' the car.

I'm pretty sure this is a waste of money but it got me thinking :-

Is it worth getting the car detailed and protected. If so when is it best to do this and can anyone recommend a good detailer in the Preston area.

Its only worth having it detailed if your willing to maintain it, that means no sponges, two buckets etc.... Otherwise it will just get swirled again. The AG is a con, you can get the stuff for less than £20 on ebay and do it yourself, otherwise just wash it as normal.

Head over to detailingworld.co.uk and get a list of "approved" in your area, expect to pay around £300 for a full machine polish etc.

There's a local guy on there :)

I did mine with DiamondBrite - similar to the Autglym you mention (that I was also offered at the dealer). Did a load of research beforehand and took the risk of getting the stuff off ebay but got the real deal and am very pleased with the result. Took me about a day in total to prep and treat my vRS.

There is a detailing company called finer details, who work from North Manchester. The bloke does some pretty impressive stuff,

examples on detailing world.

Did you order your car from Simpsons? Did you get a good deal?

Welcome to the club!

As previously discussed, review the spec details of the car on the Skoda order system with the dealer to make sure everything is correct.

Yes, it was from Simpsons

It seemed like a pretty good deal to me.

VRS Petrol in race blue with spare wheel, auto dimmer, maxi-dot and rear parking sensors.....£17000 OTR

We went through all the options about 3 times with the dealer and it is all written down on the receipt I have so it should all be fine.

I will double check all the options on delivery, which, I've been told, should be about March.

I'll investigate all the detailing options further.

Thanks for all the good advice.

Sounds like either you didn't get the Sales Manager or he has learnt his lesson after my debacle!

Anyway B) car and another Race Blue vRS around Preston.

Hopefully.

I've been looking out for any Skoda's around town but so far, apart from Taxi's, I havnt seen very many.

Mind you, once I get mine I'll be spotting them everywhere

You'll see me bobbing round, but I'm not in a Skoda lol

Funny, I thought the same as I bought mine, but now I'm activley spotting (do I need a duffel coat and notebook? :) ) I actually see loads, not many vRSs though.

Simpson's have a white vRS CR demo, am off to drive it on saturday.

The quote they have given me beats the one form my local dealer but isn't as tempting as Rainworth Skoda who got v close to DtD price.

Hopefully.

I've only seen four FL vRSs. Two race Blue Hatches, one Candy White Hatch and a Black Magic Estate (other than Simpson's demonstrator and mine),

However, it is good when you see one.

Still slightly more common than my Honda Accord Type S Tourer. I think that I have still only seen three or four - ever. In fact Glass's guide didn't even list it, only the saloon.

I've seen a black FL hatch and estate, a cappuccino hatch and at work every day there is a red hatch.

But so far no vRS.

Until mine arrives I hope :)

I'm sure you will enjoy it just as much if not more than the Seat!!

I've not seen that many FL's about maybe 4-5 and I've not seen one other FL vRS on the road so far.
