Seal then Wax or Wax then Seal?

Featured Replies

Hello, the time is fast approaching when i will be giving my car a much needed spruce up but i was just wondering is do i wax then seal or do i seal then wax, i have purchased some zaino z8 so does this get used then wax on top or the other way round? Thanks Glenn

Normal practise is for a sealant to be applied allowed to cure and then if you want more depth and protection apply a wax over the top but Z8 is a finishing sealant and gloss enhancing product similar to say meguires quick detailer ( just as a comparison for how you use it ) only far far far superior and leaves a beutiful glossy wet look finish ...... the only problem with Z8 is like all the other Zaino products the finish is all in the surface preparation and Zaino products like to bed on top of Zaino products for the best kind of finish . so bang this on last matey

I'm new to all this, would have though that sealant is used to seal it all in for longer lasting so would have always been put on last.

Also just wondering about the Megs Quick Detailer (would this be same as Megs Last Touch),I assumed this was a Lubrication spray for Claying, drying etc, not as a sealant

Nope, sealant is used to seal in the polishing work you've done on the paint. It will also have the effect of increasing depth and gloss to the paint finish. Then you would apply wax products. The advantage here is that you can keep topping up the wax protection as it gets broken down by the elements, while still maintaining overall protection to the paint with the sealant layer

I thought that BH said you didn't put anything over Autobalm?

They dont recommend it but to achieve water beading, I do and have never had a problem.

They are producing a product to go over AB, but its release has been delayed
