Scout tow bar

Featured Replies

Folks - Hi,

Having owned the Scout & the Fabia vRS from new for 2 years, I realise that it's been trouble free motoring throughout for both cars....

Both have been very good buys - for two different reasons, and I have to say that the Scout has been spectacular through 2 snow seasons, and I have

had absolutely no complaints with Dunlop 225.150.R17s fitted, driving in the snow they have been above average for a road tyre (Price came as a shock at 31k miles!!)

If I had to niggle it would be...why is the laquer lifting off 3 Scout wheels? and what's with the Control System for Exhaust caption illuminating after 32k miles

of varied driving? Could this be sooted exhaust valves? or low on the fluid? Any experiences??

My next move is to select a detachable tow bar to fit a cycle rack onto - one that 2 bikes sit on (rather than hang off) with lighting & Reg plate..Any steers on a

good brand at a fair price? One which will not yell at me when I engage reverse & activate the rear parking sensors!! I'm looking in the Basingstoke/Salisbury

region for a supplier who can fit. I seem to remember that the Skoda dealer wanted around £500+ fitting for the tow bar alone, this seemed a bit heavy?

Finally, it appears that my local garage can activate a number of options via his laptop, or so it seems on this website? Is there a list to select from available? I have a standard Octavia 140tdi Scout with Maxidot & would love to see what else I've got on board that I've not found!

My VAG specialist is Roger at Andover Car Service, who is a Bosch expert & can be compared to anyone when it comes to work & prices..however he is not keen on fitting tow bars as he complains that it's time consuming....

Looking forward to hearing who is recommended for towbars.

In my experience - because they do that. I got it all sorted under warranty though the replacements may do it too!

In my experience - Faulty Exhaust Sensor - again sorted under warranty

Get to your dealer and let them fix it.

I'm look at detatchable towbars too at the mo and like you want to use a CAN compatible wiring loom. I doubt anyone you find will be any use to me!!
