Vreds or Bridgestones

Featured Replies

Morning All,

Just a quick question but i need to change my rear tyres as they have pretty bad sawtoothing. They are dunlop sports so are now making a hell of a noise (never quiet when new really). I had the geo check done earlier this year and have just been trying to get some more use out of the rears as they still had lots of tread allbeit unevenly worn when the camber was adjusted etc. The wear isn't any worse but as they are wearing done and the damage has been done already they are just getting worse.

I now just need a a new set off rears around £100 a corner that will be fairly easy on the ears for once. Thought about going back the potenzas but everyone seems to rate the vred ultracs? I just think that if there is still a slight issue with any camber etc then directional tread patterns such as the vreds would wear with more of a sawtooth effect than asymetrics (creating the noise). Or is this not the case. Also what sort of mileage can i expect out of the vreds.

I need to order these today if possible as they tyre noise from the dunlops are ruining an otherwise perfect car.

Thanks in advance, appoligies for yet another tyre thread!

Vreds of course

Vreds of course

x2 best tyre i have ever had

not used bridgestones, but the vreds are ace. and cheap, try to find a crap review on the vredesteins and then decide.

Fair enough, that would solve that issue then. I will order some up.

I am right in thinking these are the ones from camskill VREDESTEIN ULTRAC SESSANTA - 225/45R17 94Y XL TL

Thanks

I've put a set up back now, and the rear end really bites in now. Infact it makes the front want to understeer now.

But im due a full geo setup.

yeah that seems right to me, just be careful for the first 50 miles whilst they are scrubbing in. after that the grip was excellent. with my toyo T1Rs it took about 3--0400 miles til they were at their best.
