Micro-can with no green light....... Help please

Featured Replies

Hi guys and dolls,

I have a genuine Ross Tech Micro - Can lead, which I have had for nearly 2 years now, but was last used back in March last year to switch off both the seat belt chime and anti hijack on my F/L 09 car. Worked perfectly with VCDS 908. Was left in car glove box since then in a padded jiffy bag, took it out a couple of days ago to scan the car but got this message:

Port Status: OK

Interface: Found

Type: Ross - Tech uCAN-c

Status: Not plugged into car!

There is no green light at all on the dongle, however their is a distinct smell of burning/melted platic when you sniff the dongle......................not sure if it was like this originally, never smelled it before now.

Have tried the dongle on another car and again no green light and same message as before.

Has it committed suicide whilst left in the glovebox as it appears to be dead, any ideas anyone.

You should have a green light the moment it is plugged into the car (without it being connected to the laptop) considering you have tried a second vehicle i would contact Ross-Tech directly.

I'm guessing a blown fuse to the DLC port. I don't which fuse it is in your car. But you can find which wires the the +12 should be on by looking at the wiring info on the Aftermarket Radio page.
