I'm gonna regret this i know but why ? is it bomb proof ?

As you say they are like rocking horse, especially because of the 200quid cashback offer samsung did..

my parents have one, and its a cracking TV apart from:

A) the "dynamic" backlight which changes brightness depending on the colours on screen... when watching a film its fecking annoying!... belive it can be turned off in the service menus

B) input lag..... not a good choice for xbox/ps3

C) 200hz.... makes everything but sports look ****e.

Carl, save yourself some pennies and go for a Panasonic TXP46G15. Truly awesome.

x2 . All about the Viera. I had two Samsungs in a week fail - decent pictures and leading edge tech for low purchase cost, but shockingly poor build quality and quality control. After the first one's panel died in a mass of vertical red lines when mounted using its VESA mount and the second died with a faulty power switch and other issues I said no to a 3rd and got a Panny - great decision. They're built like tanks the Panasonics and such a great picture.

x3... Panasonic Plasma's bomb proof in my opinion. Think of these 'bargain' lcd's like Citroen cars, high on features

in the showroom, get them home and then all the trouble starts.

Have a look on AV Forums AVForums.com. I'm sure they will have some info on it. I don't think you have to be a member to search the site.
