Hi All

I have a mk1 Fabia 1.4mpi 8v. Its always lumpy on tick over and can be a little jerky when sticking your foot down. I thought it may be the timing chain as its done 58,000 miles but the Skoda dealer said don't bother until it's done around 100,000 even though the haynes manual says replace at 30,000.

Can anyone suggest whether it could be the timing chain or something else.

nothing to do with timing chain...could be many things..

Try running some fuel system cleaner through it. I've just done that and it seems to have made it quite a bit smoother. Hope you sort it out
