Scout Exhaust management caption illuminating...

Featured Replies

Following the exhaust management caption illuminating on my 57 plate Octavia Scout: I drove the car to Andover Car Services where the laptop revealed that exhaust pressure sensor No1 was faulty. As the car is still under warranty I phoned The Winchester Car Co, who in turn suggested ringing Skoda Assist, (SA).

The SA mech turned up at my house within the hour & replaced the sensor; following a short drive with me holding the laptop the particulate level dropped from a high of 14% to 0%.

Job done promptly & to my liking....furthermore the mech revealed - If my car's warranty (including SA) had expired, this would have cost circa £200+ in a Skoda garage, however with a new SA taken out annually - it would have cost the price of the replacement item only, (One of many typical spares carried on board for VAG [except SEAT] vehicles).

Under SA...This annually renewable policy includes all the normal stuff from AA/RAC/Greenflag with the added bonus of access to a huge amount of VAG spares ....

I have to confess that this was all new to me! Are there any disadvantages to paying for Skoda Assist cover once the warranty expires? ....

Any comments? The Pro's & Con's please...
