New Octavia Scout

Featured Replies

Hi,

newbe here with 2.0tdi Scout on order. Just wondering if anyone has fitted an aftermarket or Skoda dog guard. The Skoda one appears to need riviting. Any advice would be most welcome.

Welcome to Briskoda

I have a Skoda dog guard fitted to our estate (assume it's identical for the Scout). It's actually quite a good design.

The two side supports (legs) attach at the bottom to the tether loops and at the top they slot over the large loops that the seats lock on to. Then the guard itself attaches to these two legs with a thumb wheel screw on each side.

Some benefits: you can drop the rear seats and retain the full width of the load bay without removing the guard, the rear parcel shelf (or whatever it's called on an estate) and storage box are still operable with the guard in place. It's quick to remove the guard, leaving the legs in place.

Overall, I'd highly recommend the Skoda guard - I can't imagine any generic design being as integrated or functional.

Thanks,

I'll get the dealer to put the dog guard on the order.

I got them to put an OEM dog guard in when I bought my 2nd hand scout. Looks good (for a dog guard), doesn't rattle and now the dog drool doesn't get anywhere near the seats. Result.

And... I've got the net system thingy. Split the boot in half , front half for stuff, rear half for [big] greyhound. Plenty of room.
