Advice On Rechipping Skoda Elegance Tdi

Featured Replies

Has anybody had their Tdi Octavia rechipped? If so, who did the work and how much did they charge? I've been recommended TD performance tuning which they say they can rechip for

That seems like a good increase for a 110 (although bear in mind actual output is probably nearer 120bhp) but make sure you see the before and after figures. ie do they map it on a rolling road?

The price is very good btw.

Jabba aren't doing 110tdis yet (only PDs when i last spoke to them about a week ago) although they plan to soon.

I paid about

Hi Martin,

I have recently spoken to Jabba re: TDi tuning as currently they only do PD type diesels.

However, they are currently trialling a new re-map programme for the TDi 90 & 110 that will be programmed by diagnostic port, saving having any external modules, (that make it obvious that the car is "chipped") and would be undedectable to normal diagnostic checks on the vehicle.

I have my name on a list for further info when available. There are other co.s around who offer TDI tuning in various forms, but Jabba seem to offer a competitive price and judging by the no. of cars you hear about on this Forum, have a lot of experience with Skodas and furthermore, have a track record of happy customers.

I have previously had a Nissan Almera 2.2Di which I took to a certain tuning co. to chip and due to inexperience of dealing with this car, put it off the road for a week as they damaged the electronic throttle module! - to be fair they bent over backwards to resolve the problem and gave me a very good package at the end of the day, but, I think I have learnt from this lesson to select a co. that has previous experience with my type of car!

Hope that helps - John
