Fabia battery

Featured Replies

I have joined on behalf of my mother who has a much loved Fabia (51) - unfortunately the owners handbook has been 'mislaid' and we are unable to look up battery changing. A new battery was installed 2 years ago but it has lost its charge and Europarts who supplied it will replace it but I seem to remember there are certain procedures to follow, unlike swopping a battery over in most other cars...

Please can somebody send a link to the ins and outs of battery changeovers so that I can get my 87 year old mother back on the road, she's getting bored stuck indoors!

Also would very much appreciate a link to a pdf of the owners handbook if there is one, I've searched but no luck...

Hi Mrs P

Sorry I have not got or know of any pdf's of the hand book

But not sure why you would want a hand book to exchange the battery ! but I think you are meaning loosing the settings, What I would do is get the new battery and find a friend with

another car battery, undo the bolts on the battery posts, connect the jump leads from the friends car, to the connectors of your car, lift the connectors off the posts(you then still have 12volts to your car) remove the duff battery, replace with the new, refit connectors and tighten the nuts, and remove jump leads.

I hope that is what you are asking, if not please ask again
