Estate roof rail trim fallen off

Featured Replies

:wonder:

Found an odd shape piece of plastic near our new FL Estate parked in our driveway. On examination I saw it had the Skoda name and part nos. embossed on underside and after a careful look around eventually saw the b.........g obvious that it was the trim that covers the leading edge of the roof rail on the drivers side but seems to have clipped back in place ok.

There are no signs of anyone forcing it off so I'm puzzled why it should have happened on a nearly new car and wonder if it is a known fault - maybe it's worth mentioning to the dealer in case it falls off again and is lost?

Wonder if the cold snap popped it off 'coz it was never clipped on properly at the factory.

Were any of the tangs missing, bent or distorted ?

Possible if water got under it and then froze... ???

Thanks guys,

Yes there was a frost of abt -3 C last night but there have been colder ones before - none of the tangs seemed damaged and can't budge it by hand. If it happens again I'll either leave it off and take it back to the dealers (which maybe I should have done anyway) or put it back with a splodge of silicon goo or similar .

Not a big deal but slightly surprising all the same - this is my first Skoda so hoping the rest of the car not similarly clipped together!

Cheers
