GSM III replacement

Featured Replies

I've had a search and can find other threads broadly on topic, but not quite what I'm looking for...

I've just upgraded my phone to a iPhone, whaich as we know doesn't support rSAP (yet..). As such,my factory-fit GSM III unit will not pair.

Is there an easy way to remove the BT module and replace it with one that doesn't need rSAP, yet still maintain MFSW and Maxidot integration?

Thanks

Just fit a non-rSAP module I would have thought?

You can just buy a non GSMIII module and swap it. You may lose some of the functionality that the GSM3 module provided since it is in effect a phone, whereas with the GSM2 module your phone is still used.

Excellent. Thank you.

Now, anyone know anywhere that has a GSM II unit going cheap?

They dont go cheap due to the poor £ to Euro exchange rate, expect to pay at least £250 for the module.

That's what I was afraid of. Cheaper to pop a Parrot MKi9100 in it's place. :(

Mr VrStu is your best bet, but he is somewhat busy for the next six months, I know he will have one in stock.

You could always send him a pm, he can get on line everyday I would of thought........And might be able to help.....

If you really want the integration with the steering wheel and Bolero etc how about the Kufatec system? I'm very happy with mine, but it's not cheap, £325ish or if you're lazy like me about £400 fitted...

I don't know much about it, but Parrot do an adapter that allows you to use the steering wheel controls with a Parrot kit (details below from the web). They seem to cost around £75.

Parrot MULTICAN - Steering Wheel Control Kit

The Parrot MULTICAN is a steering wheel mounted control kit (for CAN bus vehicles) that allows you to use your vehicles existing steering wheel mounted commands to control your Parrot CK3000 Evolution Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit.

The Parrot MULTICAN operates with all kinds of steering wheel controls and is currently compatible with many car brands.

The Parrot MULTICAN is available for the Parrot CK3000 Evolution and the Parrot CK3100.

Thanks.

PM sent. Quite happy to pay for a module as I can just swap it around when needed and keep most of the functionality. It's rumoured that rSAP is coming in iPhone 4.
