Favorit ecu wiring

Featured Replies

Hi There was about to change my ecu over due to an idle fault when i noticed that under the sliding black sleeve at the top of the ecu where the wires of the loom fit into the multi plug there is a brown wire from the loom with a male bullet connector attached , a black wire with a female bullet connector fitted to it these wernt connected? i looked in the haynes manual , the only brown wire i saw mentioned was something to do with the lambda sensor but no mention of the black wire ? very confused ,forgot to say the car is a 95 favorit glxie

Where does the black wire come from/go to, Ray?

lambda has a black wire BUT vw also use black as +12v ign fed, wouldn't think that the bullet connector was origional equipment and would think that black wouldn't go to brown so you've had the wiring fairies in by the looks.

if you can see what number pin the wire goes to on the ecu i can help

Hi There how do i count the pins as i noticed a few are numbered but the black wire in the multiplug isnt ?

ok its been a while since i've done the older stuff, but i think they just number the ends of each row and you have to count from the and pin

I Managed to find time to look at the ecu wires , counting from the front of the car backwards in the middle row the black wire is number six although not a lot of the pins have anything attached so its not the six hole but the sixth wire if that makes sense the brown wire comes from the loom side , has a bullet connector attached so no idea about that one
