Octavia II Cruise Control

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 2008 Skoda Octavia II 1.4 petrol. When I bought the car Skoda Ireland told me, by e-mail, I could get cruise control fitted. However, the garage then told me it wasn't possible with the 1.4 petrol as the engine would be underpowered. Ireland has improved its Motorways so much in the past couple of years and I'd like to get CC now.

Other cars like the Citroen C4 1.4 litre have CC so why is it not possible to have it on my Skoda.

Answers / comments appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

Maybe reply to Skoda Ireland's email and see where they recommend that you can get it done, seeing as your dealer says it can't be done.

Where are you based? I remember Ken in Phoenix motors was looking into the idea of doing this before but due to various reasons I dunno if he ever went ahead with it. Can't see why it should be impossible with 1.4L. Maybe give him a shout....he's in the Bluebell office. Tell him Gaff mentioned it.

Was your car new or 2nd hand, just wondering if it's considered an option for 1.4?

As long as the car has DBW it can be fitted, although you may have to go to a VAG specialist rather than a dealer. Over here on the UK mainland several places can fit it for you outside the dealer network.

You can mount Cruise control, I installed on multiple cars cc and go without problems, you just need the lever  and in some cases and a cable ....
