VRS Seats...

Featured Replies

hi,

been lurking for a while, looking to buy either a Fabia vrs or a SEAT Ibizia fr, but all the vrs i've seen for sale have a very light grey almost white seat trim. are they all like this? it's just i'm not known for my car tidyness, and i know these seats would last about an hour before i mark them!!! if there is another option, what year am i looking at? or possibly body colour?

i prefer the skoda to the seat, but feel the seat would suit me better if a darker interior is not available.

i can't afford a re-trim, before anyone suggests it! lol!

any help gratefully received

dylan

All the SE (07) had leather as standard instead of the white and black

There are a few non SE which have leather but these are either a skoda optional extra or a re-trim

Im sure if what i said is wrong somebody will correct me

The mans spot on!

Im affraid you will have to look for an SE or a standard with re-trimmed seats.

or just go for the usual water-stained grey look....

The seats clean up pretty well with the right cleaner (1001 carpet/upholstery cleaner) and you can always buy some 303 Protectant spray which is basically teflon spray and stops most things sticking to the trim.

Skoda original leather seats were a very expensive option (approx £1300)

A re-trim from firms like Seat Surgeons of York is £750-£1000

The alternative is to try and find a Fabia SE in a scrap yard or even e-Bay, for the seats .

The much cheaper option, of course are Seat Covers. Cheap ones from a supermarket (Aldi, Lidl, etc.) about £10 to custom made ones for £60-70.

Oh, and Hello and Welcome to the site.

The vRS has always had horrid seats!

When I bought my car - new - the seats were a deal-breaker.

The dealer checked out everything in the Skoda parts lists and couldn't suggest anything - the dealer retrim kit wasn't then available and no other Skoda has the same seats as the Fabia vRS (I think) so the L+K versions from other models wouldn't fit.

Fortunately he knew a good local upholsterer who'd worked for them on leather repairs and was apparently willing to do a complete retrim.

In the end it took 3 weeks (done before I took delivery) and £1400 including the four doors - the dealer facilitated the dismantling and reassembly - but then I did have to pay full list price for the car!

After 62,000 miles and 5.5 years they're still looking brilliant except for a slight stretch on the drivers seat pad.

Later Skoda brought out their own retrim pack which would be by far the simpler option.

I have a single HD seat cover with a VRS logo in the back of it where the original on is and thats lasted me over a year so far.

My interior is still looking spotless and thats even after countless drive through McD's etc. if they do get dirty then a stiff upholtery brush as any weak all purpose cleaner solution will bring them up like new

As above really. The seats arent good in the vRS. my friend has the mk4 FR, it is nice, but the seats are not hugging like the vRS. The sides dont come out as far. Personally, just get vRS along with a bottle of 1001 carpet cleaner.

Problem with leather they are bottom boiling in the summer, and freezing in the winter, even with heated seats.

Good luck anyway, both very nice cars.

I just waqlked passed a fabia vrs and it had a beige leather interior. Didn't by any means look modified.

Well, if it has a beige leather interior it very definitely was modified. Seat Surgeons do a top job on the leather as well.

I'd love to get the beige plastics from a late model Elegance (it wasn't as yellow as the earlier ones) and get a cream re-trim.. think a vRS with cream interior would look ace but I know allot of people think otherwise ;):D

I never had a problem with the seats in my original vRS in the year I owned it, if they got a bit grubby I just cleaned em with upholstery cleaner. I'm pretty tidy when it comes to my cars though. Leather seats in SE ain't great, they go shiny very quickly. At the moment I'm wondering if Seat Surgeons would retrim the door cards to match...

I went for blue and charcoal...

Seats clean up very well with 1001 shampoo, also LIDL are selling perfect fit covers for a tenner this week Black with blue or red piping

Now on Black Leather myself SE

National

Was it a yellow one, as I think I know who commissioned that interior? :)

thanks for the replies.

might well be a FR for me then :'(

Buy a vRS and get seat covers? I do - its only at the weekend I take them off :)

Mine has the Skoda option grey and black leather and it looks fantastic. I've seen a few other ones on ebay with black leather seats (not SE's) so there are a few out there.

we have vRS optional black leather seats in our '06 Fabia. 65,000 miles later they still look like new. B)

pain in the arse to try and keep clean god knows how many stains i've got on mine and i'm always gutted everytime i make a new one. Although the pure smiles per gallon more than make up for this slight inconvience. She's in the gargae until the end of the week i think ill treat her to good clean inside and out when she's home
