Door locking light permanently on

Featured Replies

HI all

I have a 2003 Octavia Elegance and Have not driven in a few months.

did some work on it a few weeks ago which included:

Fixed my upgraded audio system (moved the equliser from back to front)

Fixed coolant temp sender

fixed header tank problem

Fitted new battery

Went to start the car up today and she worked fine but i noticed the light that flashes when locked and is off when open was staying permently on.

All the door functions right. (windows and locks all around)

Anyone know what to look for?

Thanks in advance

Richard

Water ingress into the door control unit plug would be a start.

Ill take a look when it stops snowing. (I need to replace the door membranes anyway so be a good excuse to do both at the same time)

ding ding ding we have a winner!!

Thanks for the confirmation of my worst fears. There was water in the plug.

I have blown it out with our compressor and sprayed it with OL electrical cleaner. Before i put it back together. How do i stop it happening again?
