Anyone Have A Catch Can On PD 170

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking to see wether anyone has done this relatively straight foward mod.

Either ,

1) venting to atmosphere

or

2) recirculating from the catch can.

I would rather to see the emissions from the catch can bein recirulated back through the EGR.

Not too bathered about lighting any fault codes as they are easily removed permenantly.

Thanks

Tom

Sorry.

Forgive my ignorance.

What are you on about??? :S

Only ever seen "catch cans" on race engines. Needed because oil might spew out of breathers onto race tracks.

Why would one be needed for road use?emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Not yet,

but will go either on this or next one!

I've been told on Octy you can't vent to atmosphere, unless you map the alert out.

HTH

P.S.: I find the new website graphic way less immediate and user friendly than old one. Maybe I'm simply a old brainer....

Hi again, How are things

Yeah,

i remember hearing about the ECU looking for a certain amount of recirculated gas when the EGR is opened or else it will . Jump to Safe mode.

But there is a very recent thred about blanking the EGR altogether

Possible EGR Bypass

Alert lights do not bother me any more. Since removing the DPF , any light on my car can be switched off permenanlty. My car doesn't work on back pressure anymore. Back Pressure and Lambda are Void and are set to values that they will never realisticaly acheive, and a forced and passive regen are not possible.

I must also look into cleaning out the EGR valve, my car was excessively trying to regenerate before i got the ECU debugged of faults. Have you any suggestions or advice ?

Thanks Again

Tom

CCV catch can Mod

Ciao,

I forgot we already talked of this (I told you I'm an old brainer...)

Don't know if your remap covers also EGR monitoring. I had been told EGR can be mapped out...

But, AFAIK, the catch can fed back to the engine is perfectly safe even for a standard setup.

I'm just looking for the hardware bits for the oil catch can...

Take care,

Stefano
