Radio in Yeti

Featured Replies

My intention is to fit the radio I already have a ( JVC: KD AVX 77) in a Yeti so what I need to know is if there is anything I need to to pay special attention to. I intent to use the Skoda original kit for additional fi tting of non-original radio AZ0 700 001 but I'm not sure how you remove the factory fitted one. Are there any hidden clips or should I use brute force and simply pull the original one out?

Missling, the trimpiece around the center cluster is just a press fit. It comes off if peied carefully. Not exactly sure where to start, as it is quite thin in places. The raido is fixed with some screws after you have the trim off. All the connectors seem to be standard iso, so hooking the new one up should be easy.

It may be that the original radio interfaces with the MFD, depending. My Columbus does, but how to make that work with an aftermarked unit, I do not know. Your friendly Skoda dealer should be able to tell you .Bbut if SMC, forget it.

When in Rome......

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately my friendly Skoda dealer is SMC (do they have any friends?) so I`ll try and remove the trim after I´ve bought the new one which should help me see how it is fixed.

I do not kow where you are located, but CarePoint in Ringsted are very helpful - even with aftermarket gear. Call Bo in the parts deprtment or Cayit in the sevice if that is not too far for you. You can get the details from their website. Prices are negotiable too.

If you mention that I bought a white 170 from them, it might help. As far as I know, it's the only one in the country, so they wil know who I am.
