tyre size drop?

Featured Replies

been looking at getting some nokian wrg2 tyres for better halfs car, currently she has 225/50/17s fitted. however if i go down to 225/45/17s instead i can save £176. question then is can anyone tell me if this size should be ok? done the online tyre calculator and it will change speedo slightly but if anyone out there is up on there tyre know how any advise is welcomed.

That's a difference of 3.5% which is not recommended.

if you went to 235/45/17 that would be 2.13% difference and would be okay.

235's might be too expensive again though.

use etyres to get an idea of each of the sizes, their service is absolutely excellent. They even came back to check the wear on my tyres were even !!

What car is it?

its a seat altea freetrack 4.

I just bought two new tyres for my mountain bike. Much cheaper than the prices you've been quoted above - maybe you should try these?
