Bodge's Super Special Service Weekend!

Featured Replies

Just empted my OCC after 2 months since last go.

surprised at how much fluid was caught.

I do small journeys so in the cold weather we have had, not surprising I guess.

why does it look red in colour?

i would have thought it would have been a dirty brown colour like bodge's.

It's not red in colour (that is probably the flash)

The colour was a dirty brown watery oil colour as per Bodges

Hmm, Think I would keep that quite :giggle:

Hahaha I can't believe I missed that!

I was expecting the jizz in the catch can to be thicker, but it was really watery. Must have been alot of fuel/water in it. What was yours like?

After talking about pink bits is "jizz" really a good choice of words :D (ducks for cover)

Edit: not sure you should be enquiring what somebody elses is like either :p

Haha you can't win Bodge can you...

My Catch was exactly the same as yours, watery oily smelling fluid.

I do do a lot of short journeys though, so can see it filling up quicker in this cold weather.

Great post Bodge.

Going to do my transmission oil (1.8 NA manual) next weekend - so all I need to get the filler and drain nuts off is a 17mm male hex socket?

Did my throttle body - a bit trickier to get off on the NA 1.8 engine, and was wary as its cable actuated of pulling the cable out. Got it pretty clean anyway and it has made a difference. My qu is - there were two pipes other than the air breather pipe - two smaller pipes with approx ID of 10mm what are they? One of them had oil deposit and mayonaise gunk in it which i tried to remove as much as I could (I do short journeys during the week so I amnt too concerned it goes after a long run).

Any ideas?

Thanks for this Bodge. Used your cunning plan with the hose and funnel when I changed the gearbox oil the other week and it worked a treat, gear changes are noticeably smoother now

The only problem I had was when I realised my drive isn't level AFTER I drained the gearbox  so I had to push the car back onto a level bit which was slightly hard work.
