fabia vrs abs sensor problems

Featured Replies

i have a skoda fabia vrs on a 04 plate, my abs started to kick in too early eventually the warning light came on and it was deactivated along with the traction control. scan shows that it is the front right speed sensor, i replaced this yesterday and checked the wiring, the lights went out without clearing the codes, but a few meters down the road they came back on. i checked the sensor again and cleaned the area. I cleared the codes this time but they came on again after driving a short distance. My opinion is that the sensor which is a new dealer part could be faulty, i was planning to swap the left and right front sensors with each other and read the code to see if it changes from an error on the right side to an error on the left side, this would tell me if it is a problem with the new sensor. first question is will i be able to swap the sensors like that to test them? they appear to be universal, secondly what else could it be? THANK YOU

Check both tyres are the same profile. Other things it could be, are hub ring for ABS sensor, wiring fault, or ABS controller.

i would say you had a bearing problem on that side
