My experience with flux

Featured Replies

I'm a new driver and have only had my licence since July 09', so obviously I'm one of the least favourable customers. That being said, this is what happened:

I went onto the adrian flux web site, went through all the forms and a day later received a quote for a very reasonable 1500 quid. (which is 50 quid cheaper than esure - the next one up).

So a couple days later, I call them and want to take them up on the quote. After a few transfers and after repeating lists of details over and over again, the woman takes a very offensive turn and decides to imply that the quote I got is bs and that I'm lying. I took it as a joke and said sorry to waste their time. (I wasted half an hour calling all other briskoda-affiliated insurance providers trying to find a cheaper quote), Then called adrian flux again, hoping to talk to someone who can actually get the quote I got from the site.

Transfers and repetitions again and again, and I'm finally speaking to a lady who again thinks that I'm lying, is aware of the fact that I have spoken to a colleague of hers and is taking it as a joke. I offer to forward her the quote to her company email, she puts me on hold, a while later she apologises and states that there was a technical error and that the quote I got from them isn't actually a real quote.

Thank you for the bit of entertainment, however next time, when you get a ref number, don't waste my time and say it straight if it's not going to work.

I'm now happily insured with esure for a year with an upfront payment, their site is awesome, saved me the hassle of talking to useless staff and didn't waste my time with bogus quotes. :)

I by no means am trying to imply that they're the devil. I'm sure that my experience with them is a one-off and that the other users have enjoyed a much more pleasant experience than I have. I'm just sad that I didn't get to like them and to use them as my insurer, as many others did.

Sad to hear, but how old are you if it's costing £1.5k to insure a 1.4 ? :o

I have had 'interesting' dealings myself with AF, can't say this tale of woe suprises me........

Hi

I am sorry to hear of the experience that you had and can only apologise. I would of offered to get the quote looked into for you , but you mentioned that you have now sorted your insurance. If you would like a quote in the future you can always pm me your details and i will ensure that someone calls you for a quote, so you do not have to call in and go through the system of getting to the quotes team!

All the Best

See, Dan is awesome. I should have come to you first, wish I knew.

@devonutopia: I'm 20 and will be 21 in a few months, in full time employment, have no convictions, claims accidents or any other "issues" that may impact my insurance costs... Guess this is just what it is.

Not being rude here, but since you're apparently giving out invalid quotes to customers, don't you think you ought to take the quote number, check it and find out what happened so it doesn't happen again in the future?
