Hi folks, I've been lurking for quite a while while trying to decide if I can afford to replace my W-reg BMW 330d Touring. The car is lovely, great fun to drive but is a turning into a money pit. Come the summer its trade in value will finally be the same as the residual bank of mum & dad loan so I'm looking to replace it with something newer and sportier.

An anthracite grey Octavia vRS 170CR DSG.

I've had a look through the forums and decided what options to go for. I'm after:

• Rear parking sensors
  
• iPod Interface
  
• Maxidot (although I believe that comes as standard with the DSG)
  

As one of these apple obsessives whose iPhones are there lives I've decided not to go with the integrated bluetooth and either refit my current parrot mik9200 or wait and fit a fiscon unit, similarly I don't see the point in the columbus as i use the iPhone for Sat nav anyway.

I'm also wondering if its worth getting the factory fitted rear window tints (I have 2 dogs who travel quite frequently in a bespoke dog cage in the boot) or would it be better/cheaper to have these done locally.

finally, I've done a search on it but with no luck, is it possible to have the vRS debadged? I don't want the vRS designation removed, just the octavia badge. It quite frankly looks a bit naff and the car would look loads better with just the vRS badge on the boot

Might have to get someone to remove the badge, I have visions or taking the badge, and half of the boot paintwork with it

re the badge...as others have said it comes off easily; but if nervous ,why not ask the dealer to remove it before delivery ? Their valeter can do this as part of the prep before handing it over to you.

I've opted for:

Variable boot floor

Sunset glass

MDI

Rear Parking sensors

Light Assist

Spare Wheel

My dealer has suggested a build week of week 16 so i should be looking at a mid May delivery.

Oh and they're also taking off the Octavia badge for me

yesterday i phoned up and had bluetooth added.

Also had an indication of the build date. Unfortunately its looking like a week 21 build date :(
