Your top 5 worst BMWs

Featured Replies

Mine...

3 series compact

X3

1er

X6

5er GT

X3, X5, X6, anything else by Careless Angle except the 1 coupe, and Dixi.

Awww, only 5? :(

Wonder if there is a "Top 5 worst Skoda's" on any of the BMW forums?

X6, X5, X3 last 5 series and 1 series.

The styling of the 5er GT actually makes me feel a bit sick.

I dont like the looks of most of the current gen BMWs.

That said, i'd have most of them over a Skoda if i had the money.

Can you include "new mini" as well? :D

Good point - I'll swap the 1er out of my list for the Mini Clubman.

1st gen Cooper S is a brilliant little car though!

The 5GT isn't actually that bad in the flesh, I was at BMWs HQ in Bracknell a few weeks ago and they had a 550GT and an all new 530d sitting round the back in the press area. The GT looked better than some of BMW's recent offerings.

I wouldn't use my own money to buy it but wouldn't cry if someone gave it to me for free.

My list is:

X6

E65 7 Series (especially the original pre facelift effort)

Z3

X3

X1

They had an X1 there too and it just looked clumsy and disproportionate so that is on my list as well

X3

7 series

X6

5 series GT

x5

X3

1 Series

X6

5 Series GT

7 Series

"pre facelift" E46 3xx

All of the X series SUV

Z3 apart from the M Sort Coupe

Worst 5 skodas.

Fabia

Roomster

Yeti

Octavia

Supurb

Ok that's all covered then

The MIDI Clubman has a use though; vehicle most likely to be driven by a MILF!

This probably will be no. 1, hope they remember a fourth wheel this time!

my partners dad is looking around for brand new and we speculatively looked at a 1 series thinking it would be rather expensive, but in fact is quite a lot cheaper than a similarly specced focus or astra!!!!

and its not as bad as i thought after testing one!!

Difference is, NOBODY pays anything close to list price for a Ford or Vauxhall.

yeah i know but we've been to our local dealers, vauxhall wanted 2.5k more for the astra, and the focus was 1.2k more, list price the astra is 4.5k more than the bmw, focus is 3k more on list price, ok you only get a base model 1 series but that has almost similar specification to a high spec astra/focus!

An Isetta was the first car I ever drove, aged 8 (and on private land).

X3

X6

1-series (but not the coupe, kind of reminds me of the original 3-series!)

3-series Compact (especially the early ones)

Anything on Runflats.

I had a red one back in the 1960's before I passed my car test, driving it on my motorcycle licence. A 3 wheeled 300cc single cylinder and no reverse gear. Amusingly it was advertised as "room for two adults, one child and with a parcel shelf. " Very unreliable and unstable but easy access via the front door. Probably be worth a bit now.
