Bolero - Setting Traffic Announcement Volume

Featured Replies

I've tried to set the traffic announcement volume to be no louder than the programme using the virtual slidy thing. At present the announcement volume is set to the minimum level.

The announcements still come in much louder than the broadcast programme. Have I misunderstood the setting method?

SWMBO is very alarmed when it happens and she scares me with arm waving etc..

have SWMBO sit in the back :)

it should remember the last set volume, so turn it down whilst an announcment is playing it should remember the settings.

Thanks, but not sure it does remember. Last time we were on a long trip, I eventually had to turn the radio off because of the perceived problem.

I wonder if it's designed to be louder so your attention is drawn to it. My last car was a Mondeo and the traffic info always came on at a louder volume if the radio was set on a low volume, and there was nothing I could do about it. That way you won't miss an announcement if you have the radio turned down for some reason.

Not had it switched on on the Skoda yet so can't comment on that!

The cursor (slidy thing) on the traffic announcement volume seems to have moved back to a mid position after I set it to a low level yesterday. I did notice today that pressing the cursor produces a 'beep'- maybe it will now remember my setting? I guess that the radio volume pre set can be controlled that way as well? (These features are not in the manual AFAIK).

I just want the choice for the announcement sound level to kick in at the same as the radio.

I have exactly the same issue, I've set the TA vol to pretty much the minimum, and yet still get traffic announcements at ear-splitting volume. I'm reasonably certain that stalling the car will cause it to reset to its default level, but this cannot be the only cause

On the stream you can set the TA volume under the preferences/menu options (same place you set the power on volume thingy and everything else) - surely there is something similar on the Bolero?

I've not had time to verify it, but I wonder if you adjust the volume when a TA is playing, the system remembers it ?. The whole thing baffles me. I usually listen to audio books of an SD card, my radio is tuned to radio 2, but the only T/A's I get are from Classic FM and an independent radio station in Leeds, even though I'm on the other side of the country

I think I'll just turn it off :-)

You fix this under the "Volume" options where you can specify the actual volume the TA's are set as. Well that's what I've done, but as yet I've not turned the TA's on so can't say whether or not this fixes it!
