Heavy Rain & Aliens vs Predator on PS3

Featured Replies

Got Heavy Rain & Aliens vs Predator on Friday for my PS3

What a couple of Games.

Alien vs Predator is great as a shoot em up fest and playing as the Alien takes a bit of getting used to. But once you do pouncing on people from the shadows is great

Heavy Rain is something else though.

It's like watching a CGI film but you interact with it. I also like how there isn't a set story/progress once you get past the very beginning. You decide where the game goes (not that you know where it's going) by choosing what your character does at certain points.

This then influences what other characters do etc etc.

Im not going to put any spoilers in as it will ruin the game for others. But i spent 18 hours yesterday (much to the missus dismay) engrossed in Heavy Rain.

Aliens vs Predator is good if you don't want to think and just want to shoot things.

Heavy Rain is on the other hand a game which requires you to think ( and pay attention to every single detail of ) and is absolutley outstanding

A must buy

Carl

Played the demo of Heavy Rain and it may be the game to drag me away from CODMW2 online.

Just a shame you cant play it at the mo eh :giggle:

I'm going to get HR as soon as I dare to turn my PS3 on lol.

Im currently playing my way through the AvP campaign (on xbox).

Im actually pleasently supprised. Its not the best game i've ever played, but its definitely atmospheric, and i want to keep going back to it.

Need to finish AvP before starting Heavy Rain.

I'm currently awaiting getting a PS3 so I can play Heavy Rain (which I've already bought!)

I got Heavy Rain two days ago and I must agree that it's awesome! It's kind of like an interactive Seven (or similar psychological thriller) and it's really clever each characters story starts to intertwine. I've just gone in at the highest level of difficulty (the "I play a lot of games and i'm familiar with the controller" setting) and it does make some of the fight scenes really frantic and properly gets your heart pounding! Definitely recommend it to anyone who has a PS3.

I have to warn people, dont buy Heavy Rain if you get bored easily.

I played about 2 hours of it, and just found it dull. From talking to others, i was getting to the point where stuff really begins to get interesting, but i really cant find the urge to turn the game on, to the point i've just sold it.

It was stunning to look at, and seemed like a very good concept, but starts sooo slow.

Hell yeah Heavy rain looks great! im so bored of all the other games right now people keep banging on about cod im just bored of it now!

Think i will treat myself this weekend and buy HR.

Got PS3 set up and pretty much played Heavy Rain solid for 2 days!

You need to be a story person not an action person. It was epic. I loved every minute of it, and the ending was a complete surprise!

I would rate it as marmite.

It was a very interesting idea, it seemed well implemented, it just bored me personally. I can see how people would like it though.

Played Heavy rain and..........dissapionted no way! Great game really got into the story and characters!

Grrrr.... My copy of Heavy Rain just froze!!!

Mine did once, but I reset the PS3 and it didn't ever do it after that.

Out of interest, where did it freeze?

During the face close up bit after woman's apartment scene. I've not been playing it long... Not keen on the directional controls!!

Just like Resident Evil lol!

Sorry, not familiar with the Resident Evil games!!

Ah, very similar control system "issues" for moving, i.e. camera angle dependant. There were a few bits in RE where you could easily keep walking between two scenes due to the way the camera worked!
