Am trying to remove my radio to fit my Parrot hands free but it's not having it, unlike the golf keys that go in and you feel them jam then tug, this just doesn't feel right. Is there anyone kind enough to do a youtube or locate one as I don't seem to be getting very far.

TIA

BlackieL

Which keys are those that you have?

I bought a set of Kenwood ones from Halfrauds and I'm sure that they were longer than those.

they don't look right to be honest. Do the pikey thing and cut a junior hacksaw blade in half, that should work fine.

Cut... that is rather posh, just snap it in half

I needed some pioneer ones to get my head unit out, and my local Halfords don't have any, so twice their guys have popped out to my car and used "their" tools to remove my head unit for me. Not often I say something good about Halfords

Hi they're the Skoda ones (well...apparently on flea bay!)

Were they a very tight fit in the slots on the front of the radio?

If so I think that they may be the Audi ones and they won't fit (Halfords sold me the same ones to start with!). Get a pair of the Kenwood ones and they should fit.

I have always used a junior hacksaw blade snapped in half when I had to remove the radio.

I find wearing a hoodie helps too (or a baseball cap and wearing your trousers around your knees!)

Had the same trouble with mine and tried the exact same keys from Halfrauds. Kenwood keys got it straight out with no probs mate and without the need for a Baseball Cap or Hoodie lol!

How about I go to Halfords and buy the Kenwood keys then and next door to Sports World for a look at their Londsdale hoodie range? I was going to try tucking my tracky bottoms into my socks too

Better factor in some shopping time for some bling too.... :smirk:

Don't forget your baseball cap... :giggle:

I got the same keys from Halfords, and while tight they do fit, i wrapped the end of mine in some cloth so I could hold better, pushed the key in v hard, then removed the stereo.... Mine is exaclty the same, so brute force and ignorance will pay off... No damage was done in the process either....

Won't they damage it though? Is there a release mechanism if so won't the hacksaw blade molest it!

one is pre 01 the other post :wonder:

I think that I got the bottom ones, but I can't really remember (only used them once, at Christmas). I'll try and dig them out tomorrow and confirm.

Fortunately, they were in the kitchen, not the garage!
