NEWBIE WITH A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS

Featured Replies

hi ive owned my car for a day totally happy with it it just has a couple of faults ,

1, the ashtry in front of the gear lever wont close ,is this a common fault ,is it fixable ,i will have to wait till next weekend b4 i can look myself, just wondering if somone had/has the same problem,

2 second problem ,when i put on the heated rear window ,it causes a lot of interference to the radio signal so much so its almost impossible to hear the radio ,it sounds like a massive amount of static

help comment would be greatly appreciated

What year is it?

If it's brand new then take it back as it's under warranty, in fact I'd take it back to the dealer (working under the assumption that you bought from one) you should still be able to get it fixed for free anyway as you've only had it about 24hrs.

If they say no contact SUK's customer services.

sorry its a 55 plate 2006 with 39k on the clock ,

Is the ash tray itself seating properly ?

If thats not the cause then you may be able to see the problem if the lid assembly is removed - easy removable after you've released the gear lever surround.

The rear window heater draws considerable current if you got a bad connection it may generate interference I suppose - Id check as many of the conections as you can find.

Thats the best I can offer Im afraid - not come across these problems before.

well this morning i had to use the heated rear window and it caused the interference again but after 2 or 3 minutes the static faded away,[strange] so if it stays like that im happpy ,as for the ashtray ,its seating correctly, its the lid which is part of the center console that wont shut [press to open press to close ]i will have to have a look when i have a minute, cheers for the replies
