Annoying rubbing noise

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, its been a while since I have had to ask for advice, but here we are again. Can anyone else tell me if they are blighted by a passenger door which makes very annoying creaking and rattling noises for no apparent reason. T his only started just over a fortnight ago on my 57 reg Vrs Tdi Estate and seems to be getting worse- I have to play the stereo rather loudly to drown the noise out, cheers Ronnie

had this on the rear door on my octy. was the seals rubbing on each other.

Applied some Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care to the seals and noise stopped.

Couple of months, and many washes later still no problems

i used servisol silicon grease from maplins (apply v lightly) and it fixed the creaks no problem.

I use WD40.

Another vote for the AutoGlym rubber care here. It seems to last a lot longer than cheaper alternatives I have tried. It turned my creaking ship of an estate into a quiet cruiser..

The whole interior of my Octy seems to make creeking noises, particularly from the joint in the door card just above the aluminium insert in the card.It drives me mad, whole car squeeks when driving on a rough road or on a sleeping policeman at a **** slow speed....The car seems as it's flexing and bound to explode. That and the road noise especially when the back windows are lowered drive me mad .......
