steamy windows

Featured Replies

why is my windows inside car always wet i dont have wet floors or anything like that and also it takes ages for Them to clear HELP

mines the same in cold weather, get some silica gel packs from tv boxes, show boxes etc (little pouches you get) they clear it up ;)

all windows? or worse at front/back?

are you a heavy breather?! :giggle:

I'd start by taking mats and parcel shelf out, maybe dry them with a hairdryer just to make sure. Then give all the interior glass a good clean and dry - the cleaner the inside windows are, the less they'll mist up

Then, as suggested, put some packs of silica gel around the interior.

If you have aircon/climate put it on and leave it on. If its still wet I would imagine it needs regassing/fixing as usually this will keep the moisture down if you don't have a leak somewhere - or very wet dog :)

Leave all the dashboard vents closed overnight

I got told that changing the pollen filter can help a little with this problem, can't say I believe it but they are cheap enough I guess. I know why mine always steams up is because all my doors leak when it rains. Not got around to putting new membranes on yet.

oh well not that bad will try pollen filter first then failing that aircon regass anyone near me you would recomend

I had an O-ring fail on my aircon condenser last year making all the gas fall out.

Also leave the Climatronic in Auto made except when you're wanting Demist mode.

I have the same problem and traced it to a leak somwhere near the rear of the car. Water gets in and collects in the CD changer compartment in the the boot (I have an Octy I estate). I've not found the exact point of ingress - it's very illusive! If you can find the leak, you'll fix the problem...

chillicider it might not be a leak in the boot, it might be the hose for your rear washer jet has popped off?

As chicken_eyebrow says, it will most likely be the rear washer pipe has popped off. There are loads of posts on here about that.

Or, if it's an estate with roof bars, the rear bar mount on that side. If it has a sunroof, the relevant rear drain is blocked (they run down the C-posts).
