morning,

jan 2007 i was given 3 points for speeding, do i need to inform insurance company its over 3 years ago (am already insured) or will they automatically make adjustment?

If they are on your licence you need to tell them.

If they have expired you just need to tell your current insurer this.

As far as I know points count against your insurance for five years. They can be removed from your licence by the DVLA after 3 years by paying a small fee. After this point they do not count towards totting up if you get any further offences, but will still count against your insurance for a further 2 years.

I got my first lot of 3 in October 2005 so annoyingly have to wait until next years renewal before they stop counting them
