New Price for facelifted Fabia & Roomster-

Featured Replies

According to Autocar,

"Skoda's revised Fabia will come with a price rise when it goes on sale in April - and the hike will take it into head-on competition with the Volkswagen Polo.

The most basic Fabia, the 60bhp 1.2-litre model, will cost £9330; that's an increase of around £1200 over the current model, and over £1000 more than Volkswagen's five-door 1.2-litre Polo."

Crikey, £1000 cheaper to sit in a better quality cabin, in a better looking car. Oh dear...........

Oh dear! I was planning a new Fabia in June to replace my then 3 year old Fabia II.

Looks like I might be looking further east for a replacement now.

Are they mad!?

The Polo is not cheaper. The on the road price for the base Polo 5 door is £10510. I think Autocar were looking at the price before VAT for the Polo!

Autocar have updated their story now....

Got a feeling the vRS is going to start from £17000 onwards ,so by the time you have spec'd it up going to cost just as much as the Polo GTI!

Hmm, I wonder...................Skoda are going to have to give us a bloody good deal to persuade us to part with this amount of dosh!

Yep, Autocar have now corrected their story as below!!!

Skoda's revised Fabia, Fabia Estate and Roomster will cost slightly more than the outgoing models when they go on sale in April - although they are still set to compete strongly on price.

The base Fabia will, equipped with a 1.2-litre 60bhp powerplant, will cost £9330. That's an increase of £200 over the current entry-level model, but it's cheaper than the VW Polo and Seat Ibiza, the car's VW Group stablemates.

The most appealing Fabia could well be the new 1.2 TSI model, which has 105bhp and can be ordered with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox. With that mechanical spec it costs £12,725.

The best Fabias for CO2 emissions should be the new common-rail diesel models; the 1.6-litre unit produces either 90bhp or 105bhp, and emits 109g/km of CO2 in both states of tune. Oil-burner prices start at £11,840.

Skoda has yet to announce pricing for the hot Fabia vRS that was launched at the Geneva show.

The Fabia Estate will cost from £10,425, roughly the same as the outgoing car, and while some models will adopt a small increase - such as the 1.2 TSI DSG over the outgoing 1.6 Tiptronic - they will also offer a substantial saving in CO2 emissions.

Skoda has also confirmed pricing for the Roomster. It will cost from £11,260, a rise of around £300 on the outgoing car. The range-topping 1.6 TDI Scout will set you back £15,380, £160 more than the outgoing 1.9 TDI variant.

Glad to see that Skoda aren't going for the premium market after all!!

Chris

Skoda have made a couple of **** ups on the price list as well, so await a rejigged version of the press release before believing what you read there!

(Ie. a 85BHP SE is more expensive than the 105BHP, lol)

It's also all pretty irrelevant until they have announced spec levels too.

1.2 TSI DSG isn't too bad!

Good to see most of the engines being available across most the spec range too.
