Proud owner of a Octavia 1.6 1999 for 7mths now and very pleased with it. It's due an oil change, which I'll do at the weekend. Lovely car, well built, got that solid feel to it, no rattles or noise.

Little tip for you, when you get your oil and filter, remember to get a new sump plug aswell (you may allready know it, but hey ho). And if your going to a dealer get some Quantum Semi synthetic oil (silver can) its pretty darn cheap and really good oil.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do that. I have a suction pump for removal through the dipstick but I prefer to undo the sump plug and leave it to empty completely.
